About The Artist

Hello! My name is Brianna and I am the artist and scientist behind Breezy's Botanicals.

Breezy's Botanicals began in a botany class in 2018 although I didn't yet know that. As part of my bachelor's degree in environmental science, I was required to take botany and field botany. It was in my field botany class that I was taught how to collect plants and press them so that they would be preserved for future study. I was also taught how to mount plants as herbarium specimens which are what are commonly found in museums.

During my time frolicking through forests and fields looking for plant specimens I fell in love. I noticed how beautiful even the most overlooked weed could be and wanted to share that with others. Long after I finished my class I continued to collect plants and shortly after that, began framing them.

I first started creating pet portraits using the plants I had collected as gifts for my friends a few years ago. It was their encouragement and the support from my father that gave me the courage to participate in my first art show which went well enough that I officially launched Breezy's Botanicals.

I hope that my artwork brings you joy and a greater appreciation for the natural world. So please, take the time to look at what I have already created and, the next time you are outdoors, pay a little more attention to those humble weeds.
